About Us
Alexandra Fenton and Michael S Bergin co-founded Architecture Research Lab in 2008. We write, code, draw and imagine new futures for design, software and collaboration in the architecture, engineering and construction industry.

Alexandra Fenton has worked as a BIM and IPD consultant since 2008. Contracted by Autodesk, she co-wrote the Revit Architecture Certification Exam in 2011. A published photographer and accomplished public speaker, Alexandra has given presentations at ARCH Exchange East on BIM and Sustainability. After training hundreds of professionals in BIM and IPD best practices, she returned to Berkeley in 2011 to pursue graduate studies in Architecture at UC Berkeley. |

Michael S Bergin works with Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Software firms to develop strategies for leveraging computational design. He has contributed his expertise to many projects at a variety of scales and typologies including a high-rise residential development and a 250,000 square foot health care facility. He received his Master of Architecture from University of California, Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design where he was awarded the Malcolm Reynolds Fellowship and led his team to Vertical Cities Asia 2011 at the National University of Singapore. In the Fall of 2011, he studied with Directors of Architecture and Structural Engineering at the Skidmore, Owings & Merrill Integrated Design Studio focused on Skyscraper design in China. An article describing his research thesis, the Housing Agency System, is soon to be published by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture. |
